
LIVE’s Chief Economist, Chris Carey, has finalised an insightful piece of research into the current consumer mindset

- COVID has shifted consumer behaviour across the board (visited once pa, pre/post):
- Theatre -40%, Ballet -35%, Cinema – 32%, Clubs -31%, Pubs -18%,
- Music (<500 people) -33%, Music (>2000 people) -32%
- Festivals (<5000 people) – 40%, Festivals (>5000) -36%
- 55% UK adults changed attitude to going out post-pandemic
- 20% going to fewer events over all
- 15% not have as much energy/not thinking about going out
- 13% travelling to events now feels like a lot of effort
- While cost is increasingly a factor
- 31% feel tickets are too expensive
- 25% have less disposable income to spend on tickets
- And the post-pandemic event calendar is another complicating factor
- 28% hold tickets still awaiting a rescheduled date
- Average for those with tickets is for 2.3 events
- Males 25-34: 3 events
- 14% are waiting until these events happen before booking new ones
