Angela Schofield – Director, Harmony Voyages
Spending many years developing my career in the retail fashion industry feeling ‘safe’ as a woman in the workplace, somewhere that my opinion mattered and being given the autonomy to develop and grow within a large company, instilled a great team work ethos within me. Encouraged to make my own decisions and being expected to stand by them, whilst learning that sometimes things don’t work out, taught me resilience and determination. Moving into an industry predominantly dominated by men, was a little daunting and working alongside dominant, successful male colleagues has been both challenging and exhilarating. Finding my voice in a new industry, and continually learning from others has taught me that it’s ok to feel vulnerable sometimes and that women in the workplace really can and do make a difference.
