LIVE Awards celebrate outstanding industry achievements in 2023

The UK live music industry came together for the second annual LIVE Awards to celebrate outstanding talent and achievements across the sector in 2023. Photos of the evening can be viewed here.

LIVE, the voice of the UK’s live music business, welcomed 600 representatives from every corner of the sector at iconic venue Troxy, East London, with an event hosted by comedian Thanyia Moore. The LIVE Awards brings together the whole live music industry to celebrate the venues, promoters, festivals, and others who have led the way in 2023.

Decided by a panel of industry experts, the 15 awards highlighted the successes and accomplishments of companies and individuals across the entirety of the UK live music scene. Last night’s award winners included The O2 for the LIVE Green Award, sponsored by Ecotricity. Live Nation took home the National Promoter of the Year Award, sponsored by One Fiinix Live, while the Grassroots Champion Award went to The Boileroom, Guildford.

The evening ended with the awarding of the LIVEtime Achievement Award to the legendary promoter Phil Bowdery. Tributes on the night came from superstars including Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, Dame Shirley Bassey, Michael Ball and more.

Premium Partners for the LIVE Awards 2023 were Live Nation, OVO Hydro, Ticketmaster, and PPL. The Production Partners were LS Events, Lighthouse Events, and Universal Pixels.

Jon Collins, CEO of LIVE said:

“The LIVE Awards has become an important moment in the industry calendar as the only chance everyone gets to take a step back and celebrate what’s been achieved each year. We know that this has been a tough time for many given the cost and complexity of touring, pressure on festival margins and grassroots venues taken to the brink.  LIVE will continue to fight for positive change while taking this moment to celebrate the incredible achievements of so many in our sector.

“We’re delighted to have been joined by 600 colleagues at this year’s LIVE Awards, and look forward to working with and seeing everyone again in 2024.”

The awards ceremony takes place annually and continues to celebrate outstanding achievements in sustainability credentials, marketing prowess and regional performance, to ensure that the very best of the industry is rightly recognised.
