MVT secures £5m additional funding for grassroots venues

LIVE was delighted to support work in Whitehall to unlock additional funds for the UK’s grassroots music venues. Recognised as a vital part of the UK’s live music ecosystem (and a part under particular pressure in recent years), we welcome the decision to extend and increase funding for Arts Council England’s (ACE) Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund with an additional £5m over the next 2 years. As the vision notes, “This will support grassroots music venues, the lifeblood of our world-leading music sector and cornerstones of communities”. In addition, the Government has committed to work with industry to identify options to secure the longer-term sustainability of grassroots music venues.
